Episode 3 scene 1

[Episode three opens up in the hospital where Mary is on life support and Gabriel is on bed rest in the ICU Jordan walks in to see him as does a bunch of other friends]

Jordan: how are you feeling?

Gabriel: like hell

Jordan: I’m sorry you guys got into an accident

Gabriel: it wasn’t an accident

Jordan: what do you mean?

Gabriel: I mean we were ran off the road and the car flipped, we didn’t dodge to miss a deer or whatever bullshit that people are saying

Jordan: people say a lot of things that don’t make much sense I guess

Gabriel: like what else?

Jordan: I don’t want to talk about it right now you need rest not stress, anyway I gotta leave to go to work I just wanted to see you and make sure your okay

Gabriel: wait come back here

[Jordan exits]

Gabriel: well that sucked

[montage moment of people coming in and out of the room visiting nurses and doctors friends and relatives etc, montage ends with Gabriel sleeping he wakes up and turns to the chair beside him where his mom was sitting and she’s not there then the door opens he looks up expecting a parent and Andrew walks in]

Andrew: did I wake you?

Gabriel: no I was up, what are you doing here?

Andrew: I came to see you

Gabriel: I didn’t think you would ever come

Andrew: I didn’t want to come with everyone else I wanted to see you one on one, everyone else would just spoil it

Gabriel: even after I ran away you come to see me?

Andrew: you were right, you do mean more to me than just a physical attraction …..I think I might love you, when you left I was humiliated and destroyed and it hurt so bad and I was going to write you off and move on, but when I heard you had gotten into an accident and I didn’t know if you were alright I didn’t know if you were even alive and my world fell apart and it hurt me more than anything ever I don’t even think I cried that hard when my grandmother died

Gabriel: Andrew I ..

Andrew: let me finish, the time I spend with you may seem fleeting to everyone else but to me it’s a reason to live, I wasn’t happy with being what everyone else wanted, and you saw the real me and you accepted me even though I pushed you away and did everything I could to deny what I felt and who I was and I hurt you so much, and I don’t ever want to do that again, I would have never came out if it wasn’t for you, and although im not all the way there and its going to be a challenge and a process and journey im going to get there, and last night was a big step, and I know I cant do it alone, and I just, I want to be your everything because your everything to me.

[three beat silence]

Gabriel: that was beautiful

[Andrew get up]

Andrew: ill be back later I just wanted to get that off my chest, no matter what happens even if we can only be friends because of the things ive done I don’t ever want to lose you

Gabriel: where are you going

Andrew: home I suppose

Gabriel: stay with me

Andrew: I don’t want you to do this because you feel obligated and I don’t want you to regret tonight later

Gabriel: I want you to, I really do …. I still love you, I think I always have I’m just so confused because of everything but I want you to stay here with me, I don’t want to be alone

[his mom enters and Andrew is passed out in the bed with Gabriel whos head is rested on his chest asleep, she smiles and closes the door blackout/ storyline change]

[opening back up on Mary’s hospital room she is on life support the doctors are looking over her chart, Gabriels mother comes in the doctor stops her and has a talk with her]

Audrey: hows she doing doctor?

Doctor: no change

Audrey: any luck getting in touch with her parents

Doctor: no, and since you’re the only adult around who has a child that was involved with the accident and she has no spouse, for the time being you have power of attourney

Audrey: that’s a lot of weight

Doctor: were not seeing any change in her condition I think its time to go ahead and

Audrey: you cant be serious, if you mean what I think you mean

Doctor: we need to go ahead and make a decision soon because the hospital isn’t equipped to maintain someone for more than thirty days

Audrey: I think its best that we wait for as long as we can, her parents may show up and I wont be responsible for killing someone elses child.but in the mean time you do everything you can to give her the best possible chance of surviving this

[blackout/storyline change]

Episode 3 Scenes 2 - 4

[lights up on the classroom Jillian Lollie and Selena sitting in their little group gossiping meanwhile Jordan is sitting behind them eavesdropping inconspicuously]

Jillian: I heard from Rachel McCain that Mary had taken eighteen shots before she left that night, doesn’t surprise me you know they say battered women usually end up becoming lushes

Lollie: your full of shit Jillian Rachel McCain wouldn’t know she was too busy pressed up against Cody that night to notice anything else

Selena: besides Gabriel wouldn’t get in the car with someone drunk you know that

Jillian: yeah well we also thought Gabriel wouldn’t move in on a straight guy either but he’s become quite the recruiter

Selena: your just pissed because your news feed comes from someone whos swiping up your sloppy seconds

Lollie: its not sloppy seconds if they dumped you

Jillian: screw all of you, besides never really liked Mary to begin with

Selena: that’s because Cynthia Brown called you her clone when you wore the same dress to prom sophomore year

Jillian: Cynthia Brown is an underhanded slut and a fashion victim herself if you noticed my dress was completely unique it’s a john bernet original cost me six hundred dollars just to get it

Selena: please we all know it was a knock off and a bad one, you don’t like Mary because unlike you shes naturally pretty and you take two hours just to get out of the house in the morning

Jillian: I work out

Lollie: since when is lifting a makeup brush considered physical exercise

Jillian: whatever, anyway before I was rudely interrupted, Gabriels in intensive care and shes on life support

Selena: what room is he in I need to go see him

Jillian: trust me your not wanted seems hes got himself a constant visitor

Jordan: im sorry could you repeat that

Jillian: oh hi im Jillian you must be the other guy

Jordan: what other guy

Jillian: you know as in second string quarter back in the game of love

Jordan: you don’t know what your talking about

Jillian: honey I know Gabriel hes not the opportunist you think he is , he used you to make Andrew jealous and now that he has he guilted him into converting and so alls well that ends well

Lollie: don’t listen to Jillian shes still pissed at the world because someone dropped a house on her sister

Selena: and god knows shes jealous of Gabriel because he’s able to get a man without having to eliminate another woman first

Jillian: you take that back

Selena: oh please you totally stole shane Samson out from under Julie Larson, when you started that rumor that she was pregnant and had the clap

Jillian: as I recall that was half true

Selena: tell me Jillian are you still searching for those ruby slippers

Jillian: Selena you’re a bitch why are you even sitting with us

Selena: Jillian you’re the wicked bitch of Francis Academy

Jordan: So whats the deal with this Andrew guy

Jillian: they’ve been caught in a metaphorical love tango ever since I can recall, and I guess Gabriel finally learned how to lead

Lollie: well if that’s so he learned from the best

Jordan: what are you saying

Jillian: all im saying is you might want to either confront him or go ahead and move on

[blackout/storyline change]

[open up on the hospital room of Mary the doctor and Audrey are standing there looking back over her some time has passed]

Audrey: I still don’t feel right about this maybe we should wait till her parents get word

Doctor: we need to go ahead and get this handled besides the only way to wake her from the coma shes in is to turn off the machine and hopes it shocks her back into consciousness

Audrey: just give me the damn paper

[she signs the paper when Marys Mother walks in Blackout]

[fade in on Gabriels Hospital room]

Andrew: wake up sleeping beauty todays the day we go home

Gabriel: we?

Andrew: ive already talked it over with your mom she thinks it’s a great idea, until your done with physical therapy im yours morning noon and night ill take you to school take you home and anything you want im at your service

Gabriel: you really don’t have to do that

Andrew: yes I do, I haven’t been an honest to god man but I know I can be, let me take care of you and be your man

[Andrew leans in and their lips touch when the doors opens and Jordan Walks in black out end of Episode 3]

Episode 4 (full episode)

[Open back up on Marys Hospital room]

Marys Mother: what the hell are you doing

Audrey: Doctor This is Mary’s Mother

Mary’s Mother: that’s right what are you doing

Doctor: we need to take your daughter off life support shes not going to improve we couldn’t get in contact with you

Mary’s Mother: you were going to let them euthanize my daughter

[she throws a punch at Audrey and there is a huge hair pulling fight security comes in and escorts them away to a holding cell blackout]

[open back up on Andrew and Gabriel after Jordan walks in]

Gabriel: what are you doing here

Jordan: I came to see you, apparently someone already beat me to the punch

Gabriel: Jordan I’m so sorry

Jordan: its alright I don’t care, apparently you don’t either

Andrew: im gonna go

Jordan: yeah don’t bother ill leave you two are obviously pretty comfortable

[he storms out into the hall as how to save a life by the fray begins to play in the background]

[open up on the holding cell where Audrey and Mary’s mom are left after being detained]

Audrey: I know you probably hate me right now but I was never going to sign those papers to do anything to hurt your daughter, I was going to sign over my power of attorney to someone else because I didn’t have the heart to make that kind of decision

Mary’s Mom: yeah I bet you seemed awfully convinced by that sadist of a doctor

Audrey: well you know what were not getting anywhere sitting here arguing

[Audrey begins to climb the bench and starts unscrewing the plate on the air vent with her bobby pin]

Mary’s Mom: what are you doing now

Audrey: well im trying to get us out of here because without us there they are going to pull the plug on Mary anyway

Mary’s Mom: whatever move over, just so you know this changes nothing I still hate you

Audrey: well that’s your right now help me up so I can get up there and crawl through the vent to let you out of here

Mary’s Mom: why are you the one who crawls through the vent

Audrey: because you and I both know you cant fit in there and I can now shut up and help me

[Audrey climbs up into the vent and drops down out of the panel at the end of the hall and walks down to the cell and opens it up and they rush off after which a security guard walks in to check on them and sees that they are gone]

[open on the hospital room Audrey and Mary’s Mom arrive right as the doctor turns off the machines and the E.K.G. flatlines Mary’s Mom breaks down and cries there is a brief scene afterward of Marys body being taken to the morgue the orderly steps out of the room into the hall way to sign something walks back in and the body is gone blackout storyline change]

[a few weeks have passed by, Gabriel is out of the hospital and grieving over Mary’s death getting ready for the funeral with Andrew trying to help him]

Andrew: so do you want to wear the blue vest or the red vest

Gabriel: I can pick it myself thanks

Andrew: im just trying to help you

Gabriel: who says I need help

Andrew: don’t get bitchy with me

Gabriel: im not bitchy im pissed off

Andrew: at what

Gabriel: maybe the fact that my friend just died recently its only been a week and we cant even burry her properly because her body was stolen from the morgue by god knows who doesn’t that give me some right to be upset

Andrew: I know your angry I know your disappointed but yelling at me isn’t going to bring her back

Gabriel: it just feels like im cursed you know, it took me forever to get you but in the process I lost my best friend its just not fair

Andrew: I can tell you need a minute, im going to go outside and just meet me in the limo

[he gets dressed and wears the belt mary bought for him, and gets in the limo and they arrive at the funeral]

Preacher: and now in Mary’s memory her best friend Gabriel would like to say a few words about her

Gabriel: Mary was my best friend, I knew her since we were little children since about the age of three, shes been by my side through, everything, it took everyone else a while to cope when I came out of the closet but Mary accepted me without prejudice and told me something I would like to repeat now, “ you’re my friend , you were my friend before let me be your friend now” I don’t know if I would still be here today without her, and she will never be forgotten, she was taken from us long before her time, and its not fair but we must carry on and never forget what happened to our friend, cause after all that’s what she was to everyone, no matter how unique, difficult or just completely mad , she accepted everyone, and I know she is accepted in heaven

[the church bell tolls and there is a quick blackout opening back up on the house with Gabriel and Andrew]

Andrew: are you still grieving? You’ve been wearing black for to long, I know Mary was your best friend, but let me be there for you now.

Gabriel: fine

Andrew: let me help you forget your sadness and help you be happy

[he kisses Gabriel and they begin to make out hardcore shirts come off Gabriel pulls off Andrews belt and then the phone rings]

Gabriel: Saved by the bell

Andrew: whats that supposed to mean

Gabriel: shhh? [picks up phone] hello?

[he looks shocked and drops the phone blackout end of episode 4]
