[episode 8 opens up as Gabriel arrives home still a little drunk but mostly hungover he’s having flashbacks from the night before he looks in the bedroom and can’t find Jordan he pulls out his phone and calls him]
Jordan: (coldly) hello?
Gabriel: hey its me
Jordan: are you sure?
Gabriel: what are you talking about
Jordan: I don’t know it just seems like you don’t even know who you are lately
Gabriel: im sorry, I wasn’t going to drink, if you recall you were the one who said “it’d be weird if you didn’t”, im sorry I got out of control
Jordan: are you just getting home
Gabriel: yeah why aren’t you here
Jordan: I wanted to sleep in my own bed
Gabriel: are you mad at me?
Jordan: yes
Gabriel: im sorry, I don’t know how to say im sorry, I’m a completely different person when im drinking, that’s why I don’t drink much, I woke up next to someone else and all I could think about is how badly I screwed up, I don’t even know how I got there
Jordan: did you sleep with him?
Gabriel: I don’t remember I don’t remember anything past when you left, because I was hurt and drank it all away, all I know is I would much rather have woke up next to you
Jordan: I think we should cool things down for a while, I don’t think you’re ready to be totally committed yet and that’s okay, I just think we need some time apart, goodbye.
[he hangs up the phone, and Gabriel sits down and pulls out his pack of cigarettes and finds a half smoked short, he lights it up and sits back and takes a few drags the camera starts to film over a little bit and the room swirls as we look from P.O.V. Gabriel stands up to go to the fridge, he starts to stumble and falls down knocking over chairs and breaking the glass coffee table, the camera fades in and out and finally goes to black for a few seconds coming back in from a high angle as Audrey (Gabriel’s mother) walks in to find him collapsed in the floor she calls 911 and waits as the camera fades out once again, and comes back in on the hospital zooming out from close up on Gabriel’s eyes opening as he listens in on the Doctor talking to Audrey in the hall]
Doctor: we just got the toxicology report back
Audrey: whats wrong with him doctor
Doctor: does your son have any history of using recreational drugs mam?
Audrey: no, never, Gabriels never done any drugs, he smokes and he drinks from time to time but that’s it, he’s never even tried pot.
Doctor: we found traces of tetrathyazine and p.c.p. in his system as well as crystal meth, do you have any idea how that got in his system?
Audrey: well he was at a party the night before.
Doctor: I see do you think he took them there
Audrey: no, Gabriel doesn’t take anything offered to him, although he did have a cigarette still burning in the ash tray when I found him, I smelled very odd, not like usual smoke smells
Doctor: its very possible someone laced it, that’s very popular among drug users, its very common, especially when theres not a pipe present in which to smoke the drugs in
Audrey: he does let people bum smokes off him from time to time
Doctor: I think that may be what we have here, I think hes going to be alright, he’s detoxing, but were going to need to keep him overnight for observation just to make sure he’s alright sometimes heavy drugs tend to take a while to work there way out of the system and he can possibly experience the effects in waves while they are being filtered out.
Audrey: okay doctor
Doctor: you should go home and get some rest, we can have him released tomorrow
[black out/ storyline change]
[open back up on Lilliths house during the day she comes in the front door after school to see a bunch of moving boxes in the living room]
Lillith: MOTHER! What’s with the boxes?
Lillith’s mom: I just called the realtor today theres a wonderful place all lined up in the next county, were getting out of this hell hole of a town
Lilith: I don’t want to move mother, im not going to move, im about to graduate and I have prom and im not going to let you ruin this for me, for gods sake
Lillith’s mom: its because of you were moving anyway, you and your big mouth , having parties making a spectacle of yourself, do you have any idea what kind of scrutiny that puts me under, how that makes me look
Lillith: how it makes you look, your full of shit, take your medicine, I think you’ve gone a little over board, put the boxes away because we’re staying
[as she goes up the stairs Lilliths mother grabs her and pulls her by the shirt and throws her into the wall]
Lilliths mom: you listen to me young lady, I own you, everything you do, you will listen to me, or I will make your life hell, do you understand me, now you go upstairs and pack your things up, everything but the furniture, were moving in a week, we need to get ready
Lillith: fuck you!
[she runs upstairs and locks the door, then goes out the window, and out to her car, while her mother is banging on the door, she drives out to her dads house/storyline break/commercial]
[open back up on Gabriel in the hospital waking up experiencing the effects of the drugs again while they process , he gets out of his bed and begins to wander around, he makes his way down to the morgue, and discovers Mary’s toe tag, as well as a couple of footprints, leading to the emergency exit, he looks around goes out the door, and finds the remains of a map book, and starts to look around the woods behind the hospital, when the orderlies come out and grab him taking him back to his room ( during this the camera needs to be very shakey and make it look dreamy) he lies down and goes to sleep and as he does the camera zooms in on his eyelid until its black and zooms out again the lights are out, the camera zooms out further until the eyelids open and then further showing Mary’s face, she starts to thrash wildly and then realizes she’s in the meet locker, the door is slightly ajar, she pushes it open, and pulls with her hands until her arm is out, then pushes herself the rest of the way, she rolls off the table, pulls off her toe tag, and looks down at herself, to realize she’s nude, she grabs a labcoat off the coat rack in the room throwing it on her naked body, and hears the voices, she rummages through the drawers in a medical cart, until she finds a map book, she looks through it, she finds the page she’s looking for, circles her location and makes her way along the lines of a river, until she finds an intersection where its close to the highway, she plots out a path to her house, and then cautiously opens the door, and escapes from the emergency door, and runs out dropping what’s left of the book after she ripped her page out behind her, and running into the wood/the camera falls back and slowly zooms in on the darkness in the woods, as it zooms out of the blackness the darkness becomes eyelids once more and zooms further out to reveal Gabriel’s face, as his eyes open and he shoots up having just dreamed the present scenario black out commercial]
[open back up on Lillith as she’s driving pulling up on her mom’s house to get her stuff, she pulls around the back of the house, police cars are omnipresent as she’s driving she’s getting an eerie feeling as if she’s driving right into a mouse trap, she arrives and climbs up on the rose trellis to her second story window, climbing up onto the awning, she opens up the window and crawls through it, pausing for a moment trying to remember if she closed it when she left or not, the room is dark she goes to the closet and suddenly from behind she hears a match strike as her mom behind in the rocking chair lights up a cigarette]
Lillith’s mom: home sweet home, you know honey I think your gonna love your new room, its very grey lots of bars, and it comes with a room mate
Lillith: what are you doing here
Lillith’s mom: didn’t you think I knew you were going to be back, and here you are, after all ive done for you, here you are robbing me blind
Lillith: im getting my stuff
Lillith’s mom: unfortunately the police wont look at it that way, they should be here in about two minutes, possession is nine tenths of the law, not to mention, everything in this room was payed for via my checkbook
Lillith: yeah from dads child support, [she grabs a box and makes it downstairs] aren’t you going to hit me or tell me how I cant do this to you, what are you playing at , why aren’t you trying to stop me?
Lillith’s mom: no, take what you need I’ll even let you use the front door, lets just see how far you get before you need me, my guess is about five feet
Lillith: im calling your bluff [she walks out the front door on the lawn and from the side she’s knocked to the ground and placed in handcuffs, lillith’s mother walks out onto the lawn]
Lillith’s mom: I caught her trying to break in upstairs officer, take her away
[Lillith is taken to the squad car and hauled away, and taken through processing for breaking and entering her mug shot is taken and it’s the last shot of the episode]
