[episode 9. Opens up on the exterior of the hospital as Gabriel is being rolled out in a wheelchair to the car.]
Gabriel: is this really necessary I can walk, my legs are just fine
Audrey: are you sure?
[getting out of the wheelchair]
Gabriel: yes, I can walk I can talk, im a real boy!
Audrey: you know I love you to death, but must you be such a smart ass
Gabriel: I feel like hell but im going to be fine, it takes something a little stronger than whatever it is I ingested to put me into submission
Audrey: your drama teacher called, she wanted to know if you feel up to performing opening night
Gabriel: im doing it
Audrey: are you sure the doctor said the drugs you took
Gabriel: I didn’t take any drugs
Audrey: the drugs that got into your system, take a long while to process, they can make you feel weak mess with your emotions
Gabriel: I’ll act through it, it took me years to get the lead, its my last year, if I can survive being drugged, being in a head on collision, and my best friend dying I think I don’t think three performances are going to do much to me
Audrey: alright, ill take you to the school then, you go on in two hours I assume you’ll want to get set up a little early
[he gets to school goes into his dressing room begins applying his stage makeup and checks his phone no messages, he texts Jordan and tells him he’s sorry, Jordan texts back and says Im glad your okay but it doesn’t change anything, Andrew walks in]
Andrew: hey there he is, nothing can stop you can it
Gabriel: no, it can’t, im practically superhuman
Andrew: you seem sad
Gabriel: I really don’t want to talk about this with you
[through the open door Anna is watching and listening]
Andrew: I miss you
Gabriel: that’s great
Andrew: come on, I know you don’t want to be together but I know you miss me too
Gabriel: ive moved on
Andrew: then why are you so sad
Gabriel: oh I see you think this is about you. I fucked up that’s why, I ruined the best thing I ever had, and I don’t care, what it takes Im going to get it back
Andrew: well even though you don’t care about me, I cant leave a sad person sad without at least trying to console them, give me a hug
Gabriel: I don’t think your girlfriend would like that very much
Andrew: who cares
[they embrace and Andrew leans in for a kiss, anna sees this and walks away pissed]
Gabriel: no! I told you I may not be with Jordan at the moment, but im not ready to give him up
[Gabriel walks out of the dressing room and into the wings as the curtains go up on the first scene, the show progresses and as they get towards the end, Anna grabs Andrew and starts making out with him hard core]
Anna: and if you didn’t like that you’re a damned liar!
Gabriel: hold up!
Anna: whats the matter afraid of competition [aww struck look on Gabriel’s face, cut to the concession stand out in the lobby as Lillith is getting some food and Adam walks up to her]
Adam: hey Lillith
Lillith: hi?
Adam: you probably don’t remember me, I was Mary’s boyfriend
Lillith: okay
Adam: listen theres something you should know
Lillith: what
Adam: I heard about your situation, and how you got thrown in jail for a night
Lillith: god this town is too small, im sure what I had for breakfast is probably public knowledge
Adam: you know my friend kyle
Lillith: yes, im familiar
Adam: he’s the one who’s been sending you those messages and stalking you
Lillith: how did that creep get my number?
Adam: that’s what I needed to talk to you about, listen whatever you do you cant trust your mother, she’s my supplier, she met kyle through me, and tokd him to watch you and keep you busy so you wouldn’t figure it out, but shes the biggest drug lord in the county, and I think shes crazy
Lillith: why are you telling me this
Adam: I have a bad past I know, but I thought you had a right to know and your life could easily be in danger, you haven’t interacted with kyle have you
Lillith: yes, I slept with him at a party a while back, I didn’t know who he was, I didn’t put the pieces together until I heard something from my friend jillian, but isn’t he in jail
Adam: umm no, your mom bailed him out this past week, he’s somewhere I don’t even know where he is at the moment
[while they are talking Lolliee runs out the door into the lobbie]
Lolliee: come on girl you cannot miss this, must see tv
[as she is being dragged back to the auditorium adam calls out to her]
Adam: don’t forget what I told you, don’t trust her
[cut back to the auditorium where we left Gabriel]
Gabriel: listen here trick, you can have him, I had something way better
Anna: good keep your hands off my man, you cant compete with a real woman
Gabriel: listen honey, he was never yours to begin with, and you know what im done with this, Andrew why don’t you tell her, about all the time we spent together, especially when I was in the hospital you practically moved in with me, you know what screw this its time this went public [he kisses Andrew on the mouth for a while catching the kiss from all different angles] now tell me who do you like better, cause I don’t give a damn
[the show ends, and the cast is having their meet and greet with the audience, Lillith walks up to Gabriel]
Lillith: I have to say im sorry I doubted you , now that ive seen it in person I can tell, I see it, but anyway , that was a really good play
Gabriel: thanks, have you seen Jordan anywhere?
Lillith: I think hes out in the lobby
Gabriel: oh god I hope he didn’t see all that, I just lost my mind for a moment
Lillith: its okay, I lose my morals at least once a week, everybody does, im sure he’ll forgive you, what set you off
Gabriel: no bitch steals my line, but ill talk to you later I need to catch him before he leaves and explain myself
[Gabriel runs out to the lobby in full makeup and costume and finds Jordan]
Gabriel: okay look I can explain everything
Jordan: there no need I get it
Gabriel: you do , it means nothing to me anymore and im glad I know that, I just couldn’t help myself from proving to everyone that I wasn’t lying about anything
Jordan: yeah that’s good, here I got this for you [he hands him a shirt from NYU]
Gabriel: NYU?
Jordan: yeah ive been accepted, I thought you would want to know, that’s where im going next year
Gabriel: so that’s it your done with me
Jordan: pretty much
Gabriel: I waited for you, I love you
Jordan: loved, past tense, its obvious to me, you can say all that you want to , but I can see it, you still have some feelings for Andrew, and I really do love you, I always will I think im not so sure, but I do know that I don’t want half of you.
[he walks away and Gabriel breaks down and cries cut back to Lillith who is looking around her shoulder to make sure kyle isn’t lurking now that she knows, she walks through the portal to the stage and through the wings of stage left, she hears something rattle in the back, and turns to find nothing there, she gets out of there fast, and goes out into the parking lot and gets in her car her phone vibrates, she has a in panic attack then looks at it its her mom calling she answers the phone and theres a cussing war, it ends with lillith saying “I know what you are” she starts her car and her phone rings again]
Lillith: im not coming home, its not home anymore
Jillian: Lillith its Jillian, I need you
Lillith: are you okay
Jillian: I had a relapse, I need someone
Lillith: im on my way
Jillian: hurry please
[cut to Jillian, with her pills in hand throwing them across the room and crying hysterically black out/ open up with Gabriel sitting in class ,Theres about a month left of school, Selena still doesn’t know that the fund raiser took place jillian , lillith and lolliee and Selena are sitting in English class with Gabriel at a table the night after the show]
Jillian: so I hear I missed quite a show last night huh
Lillith: yeah, you were soo wrong
Selena: well, that makes two people at this table you owe an apology to jilli-bean
Jillian: I don’t owe anyone shit okay
Gabriel: its alright
Lillith: so you never told me, did you ever find Jordan?
Gabriel: yeah I found him
Lillith: and?
Gabriel: I don’t really want to talk about it
Lillith: so im guessing he saw your show stopper
Gabriel: yeah, and he thinks I still have something for Andrew
Jillian: well don’t you?
Gabriel: I don’t know honestly, how have you been Jillian?, weve both been in and out of the hospital so much this year im surprised we made it this far
Lolliee: that’s because you cant handle your party Gabriel
Gabriel: I was unwittingly drugged, we both know I can handle my liquor much better than you can
Selena: what party are you guys talking about?
Lolliee: the one we had for
Lillith: its nothing it was just a little get together we had
Selena: glad I was invited
Lillith: you were out of town weren’t you
Selena: no, I don’t think so
Lillith: oh im sorry if I had known I would have invited you
Selena: its no biggie I haven’t been in much of a partying mood lately
Lolliee: wait so if Gabriel was “drugged” who drugged jillian cause didn’t she go to rehab?
[jillian slaps lolliee across the face]
Lolliee: bitch
Selena: you kind of had that coming to you, don’t you think
Lolliee: im sorry, okay there, im sorry im so so sorry for being ignorant
Lillith: lolliee when are you going to learn to shut the fuck up
[the teacher walks in]
Teacher: is everybody here, Gabriel, you and the peanut gallery, keep it down im trying to give a lesson over here
Gabriel: umm you realize we only come to class at this point so that we wont get kicked out of graduation ceremony right
Teacher: im trying to prep you guys for the final
Gabriel: quick poll, raise your hand if your exempt from the exam
[the whole room fills with hands]
Teacher: fuck it, don’t kill each other, I’m going to lie down and sleep off my hangover in the teachers lounge, if anybody sees the administrator tell him that I’ve gone to make copies of something, have fun
[the teacher walks out of the room]
Selena: so Gabriel, I thought you did really good last night I’m glad I got to see it
Gabriel: thanks finally someone found it interesting
Lillith: oh it was interesting, just not in the way the playwright envisioned
[Andrew walks in the room and walks past him sitting at the table across from them in direct eyeline with Gabriel sitting with Anna]
Gabriel: speak of the devil
Lillith: speak of the slut
Jillian: five bucks says they kiss
Lillith: he wouldn’t
Gabriel: she would
Lillith: no way
[Anna kisses Andrew across the room]
Jillian: well that’s ten dollars contribution for the teenage crisis survivors fund
[lillith pulls out two fives from her purse and gives one to Gabriel and one to jillian]
Gabriel: thank you for your contribution
[cut back to Anna as Andrew pulls away from her]
Anna: whats wrong now?
Andrew: cold sore
Anna: but you don’t have the herps
Andrew: I wasn’t talking about me
Anna: fuck you
Andrew: no thanks
[she punches him in the chest, cut back to Gabriel and the gang]
Lillith: ooh cold shoulder
Gabriel: why is he still bluffing?
Lillith: especially with what happened last night
Jillian: didn’t he say he liked Anna’s kiss better though
Lillith: you had to be there hon’ talks cheap, im pretty sure everyone at this table knows that
Jillian: does that make you mad at all?
Gabriel: a little
Jillian: so why don’t you do something about it
Gabriel: im mad because he’s always going to be that way, its truly a pointless endeavor, I just cant understand why I wasted so much time on him, or why I let him screw me up in the head so much that I ended up fucking up what I had with Jordan
Lillith: its alright, whats meant to be is meant to be, you don’t still have feelings for him do you
Gabriel: im not entirely sure, I know I don’t want to be with him, but it still gets to me when I see them kiss
Jillian: it gets to me too, I haven’t seen a more uncomfortable kiss since the kiss scene between Jacob and Bella in eclipse
[the intercom comes on]
Voiceover: Selena Carter report to Administration
Selena: great, that will be them telling me when I can clean out my locker
[she walks up to the office long tracking shot, establishing the hallways and following her as she approaches the office door where she lingers at the doorway for a moment waiting to be invited in]
Principle: come in Selena
Selena: so when do I need to get out of here, I hope you don’t mind but I’m keeping the parking pass because its stuck to my windshield
Principle: your not leaving, unless you want to of course, but I have good news for you
Selena: what
Principle: you will be graduating from Francis Academy with all your friends, who I suggest you thank, they raised a whole bunch of money to cover your tuition fees for the remainder of the year, and saved you from having to transfer schools and take tests that you’ve already passed and wouldn’t be exempted from, that’s all I just wanted to inform you of that, please send in the next person on your way out
[she exits and comes back into class]
Selena: what did you guys do
Gabriel: why are we in trouble
Lillith: I don’t know what your talking about
Selena: the principle told me I should thank you guys because without your donation I wouldn’t be graduating with you guys
Lolliee: well your welcome
Selena: how did you do it?
Lillith: remember that small get together we were talking about earlier, well it was actually a giant party at lolliee’s house, with lots of drunk bitches running around and acting a fool, and some party games that got out of control…. But it was worth it
Selena: you guys had a rent party
Lillith: yeah only except for using the money for rent we used it for your tuition, I can honestly say I’ve never had more fun doing charity work, I wonder what the goodwills policy is about drinking on the job cause if its cool I could definitely get into volunteering
Selena: you guys, are the best
